The Younger Statesmen
The Younger Statesmen are a sketch and improv comedy troupe based in Los Angeles. Matt Chester, David Kantrowitz, Matt Schwartz, and Danny Tieger started performing together at Skidmore College, as part of a long-running improv troupe founded twenty years earlier by emmy-winning producer, David Miner. They decided to continue working together in their post-graduation lives, and in 2008 became finalists in Rooftop Comedy's National College Comedy Competition, with a video that was later featured on YouTube's homepage.
They currently perform weekly at the Improv Space in Westwood, and appeared as a Featured Improv Group in the Los Angeles Comedy Festival. They lasted fifteen weeks at the iO West Cagematch, and will be competing in the theater's Improv Festival. Their long-form shows open with an idea generator that combines their talents in music, visual arts, and poetry.
