Adam Macy


performers name Adam Macy is the Artistic & Managing Director at The Improv Space. He is a writer, improviser, producer, director, and actor born and raised in Los Angeles. He founded Bad Luck Rising, an improv group in New York City, which performed regularly at Upright Citizens Brigade Theater, The People’s Improv Theater, Magnet Theater, and more. He wrote, directed, produced, and played the lead role of Forbod in the off-off-Broadway play, Hammer Down, in the summer of 2010 at Under St. Marks Theater in the East Village of New York City. He edited, produced, and starred in the short film, Ringing, the debut project from Temporary Productions. He wrote and produced the documentary entitled The American Way. In April 2012, he directed Den of Thieves by Stephen Adly Guirgis at The Improv Space. In October, he directed and played the role of Pozzo in Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett at The Improv Space. He has studied with Gary Austin, JD Walsh, Armando Diaz, Ali Faranahkian, Nate Starkey, Leon Martell, and Ed Herbstman. Adam has a BA in English from Columbia University and an MBA in International Business from the Zicklin School.
